Cesarean Section Scar Rehabilitation
Cesarean Section Scar Rehabilitation Treatment
Our bellies are meant to be soft and supple; a tender and vulnerable aspect of our animal self. This softness allows for ease of movement, breath, and expansion during pregnancy.
Modernity has us gripping and holding in our bellies, already many of us are living restricted. Birth by caesarean section is a major surgery that requires a great deal of recovery to the multiple layers of the soft tissues in the abdomen and the uterus. Culturally we have minimized the effects that cesarean section births have on our bodies and psyches, a life-saving procedure and an elective bypass. This year our cesarean section rate was 41% of all births here in British Columbia. This is a massive number and women all over the Provence are carrying the scars, some multiple.
Cesarean scar tissue rehabilitation is therapeutic massage treatment to the scar and the abdomen, and is helpful for symptoms of pain, numbness and disconnection by improving blood flow, mobility, and nerve sensation. Care and treatment nourishes our well-being, while softening fascial adhesions, encouraging healthy collagen and scar formation.
This is beautiful tender work and I am honoured to offer this to our community. You can find me offering treatments during the week at the Orchard Clinic at Apple Tree Maternity.
